MetroGel (Metronidazole)

a synthetic antibacterial drug that shows high activity against bacteria, Trichomonas vaginalis, Giardia intestinalis, Entamoeba histolytica, Lamblia intestinalis, as well as against obligate anaerobes. Insensitive to MetroGel (Metronidazole) aerobic microorganisms and facultative anaerobes, but in the presence of mixed flora (aerobes and anaerobes), metronidazole acts synergistically with antibiotics effective against aerobes usual.

MetroGel (Metronidazole) in a gel form is used to treat skin diseases such as rosacea (rosacea) and acne.

The mechanism of action of MetroGel (Metronidazole) is a biochemical restoration of 5-nitro group of metronidazole intracellular transport proteins anaerobic bacteria and protozoa. Restored 5-nitro group of metronidazole interacts with deoxyribonucleic acid bacterial cells by inhibiting the synthesis of nucleic acids, resulting in the death of the bacteria.
